About Physiotherapy
What is Physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy, also referred to as physical therapy, is a treatment to restore, maintain, and make the most of a patient’s mobility, function, and well-being. Physiotherapy helps through physical rehabilitation, injury prevention, and health and fitness. Physiotherapists get you involved in your own recovery by setting a pre-defined track for the treatment. A physio may ask you to do certain exercises on your own in order to recover quickly. Physiotherapists use manual therapy and various modalities according to the patient’s condition.
What issues can a physio treat?
A physiotherapist can treat various issues like Sports injuries, Musculoskeletal, Neurological issues, pediatric care, and other problems as well depending upon the specialization of the physiotherapist. Some Common issues that can be treated by a physiotherapist are as follows:
Neck and back pain caused by problems in the muscles and skeleton. Problems in the bones, joints, muscles, and ligaments, such as arthritis. Fatigue, pain, swelling, stiffness and loss of muscle strength. Loss of mobility because of trauma to the brain (Stroke) or spine, or due to diseases such as Parkinson’s disease and multiple sclerosis

Choosing Physiotherapist
How is a Chiropractor different from a Physiotherapist?
Physiotherapists and chiropractors both work with patients who are experiencing pain or having difficulty performing different physical tasks. The only difference between the two is their treatment methods. Chiropractors mostly rely on aligning parts of the body (adjustments) with a main focus on the spine, while physiotherapists use exercise programs and assistive devices to improve patients' mobility or reduce pain levels.
Who is the right physiotherapist for me?
Finding the right physio depends on the condition of the patient and the type of treatment the patient has to go through. Suppose there is a case of post-surgery, so this patient will be assigned to an ortho physiotherapist and in some critical cases like a patient with post-stroke is not only assigned with a neuro physio but Cure Paths will make sure that he gets an experienced physiotherapist. Let us explain with one more example; suppose there is a kid who is suffering from physical pain or injury so he will be assigned to a pediatric physio. In some cases, the patient is not aware of what exactly he is facing, whether it is a muscle spasm or muscle strain so in that case, the physio takes an assessment in which gets to know the approach of treatment.
How is Physiotherapist Assigned by Cure Paths?
Cure Paths has a vast network of experienced physiotherapists available in multiple areas. We take into consideration not only the patient's condition and treatment requirements, but also their location to ensure that we find the best fit for their treatment. We also respect gender preferences and assign female physiotherapists for female patients, unless otherwise specified. Additionally, we strive to send a nearby physiotherapist to avoid long wait times and to ensure timely treatment for long-term cases. At Cure Paths, our priority is to match each patient with the right physiotherapist who can effectively address their concerns.
Can I do exercises on my own?
Yes, if a physio suggests you to do exercises on your own then start doing the same. Sometimes the exercises are practiced by the physio at the time of treatment which is supposed to do on your own without having an eye of any physio. The reason for suggesting the exercises to be done on your own is only that the recovery moves at a fast pace and there is a relief in pain. Sometimes patients can also consult YouTube videos or online exercise programs, we strongly advise against that.
Physiotherapy at Clinic
Is a Physician's Prescription Needed?
No, it is not mandatory to get the physiotherapy treatment prescribed by the doctor. In some cases, the doctor prescribes physiotherapy to the patient which is good but we also make sure that our physio makes the assessment of the patient which helps him/her to diagnose the issue and accordingly start the treatment. Our practice is to give the safest and best possible patient-centric care.
Is Treatment at the clinic better than home care?
In some cases, when patient’s mobility is an issue, there is no option but to take physiotherapy at home. In other cases, It depends on the choice of a patient whether he wants the treatment to be done at home or clinic. But in some cases, treatment requires a different type of equipment which can be available only at the clinic for which it is better for patients to visit the clinic for better results. Apart from this, a senior physio is also available at the clinic who can keep an eye on the undergoing treatment. But if a patient wants treatment to be done at their home & treatment requires only manual therapy or portable instruments, we can provide home care physiotherapy. Normally for long-term treatments, if you are not sure whether you can visit the clinic regularly, you should opt for a home care service
Advance Booking vs Walkins?
At Cure Paths, we highly recommend prior booking for all our patients to ensure that they receive the best possible care at their convenience. With advance booking, we can provide a permanent time slot for the patient and our physios can visit their location and begin the treatment immediately.
In contrast, if a patient decides to visit our clinic without an appointment, there may be a longer wait time depending on the number of patients already waiting. That's why we strongly advise our patients to make an advance booking to ensure they receive treatment at the scheduled time and don't have to wait for extended periods at the clinic.
If you do decide to visit our clinic without a booking, we recommend giving us a call beforehand to check availability and minimize wait time. At Cure Paths, we strive to make the patient experience as smooth and convenient as possible, and advance booking is an important part of that process.

Physiotherapy at Home
When to take home physiotherapy service?
It depends on the patient condition and convenience. In some cases, it is the only viable option for the patient e.g. A post-stroke patient having a balance-related issue or paralysis, in such cases, it is better to take physiotherapy at home but if the issue is mild and you can visit a nearby clinic without skipping the sessions then there is no harm to visit a clinic. Also, for patients having time constraints, physiotherapy at home service can be a time-saving option.
Is Physiotherapy at home available near my area?
We are operating in multiple cities I.e. Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, and Ahmedabad, if you want to avail the physiotherapy services in such areas then you can go to our website enter your location and check the physio availability, and accordingly, you can schedule a session. It is better to send your location over WhatsApp and we will assist you to find the right physio or a nearby clinic.
What is the duration of each session?
Usually, the session is for 30-45 minutes, however, the session duration can be increased up to 1 hour or 90 minutes in case the treatment is needed for longer durations. The session duration is generally increased in a few cases where a patient is having severe/multiple issues. Our expert can set the session duration after the assessment of the patient is done. Please note that standard charges mentioned on our website are for 30-45 min sessions. For longer duration sessions, charges will be higher.
How many sessions & at what frequency are needed?
There is no pre-determined number of sessions for a specific condition as it totally depends on the patient’s condition. If the issue is mild then our expert may suggest you take a few sessions likewise in some critical cases (Neuro related, Post-surgery, Elderly care, etc.) the sessions are usually for a longer period of time, our physiotherapist will discuss the treatment plan with you. This may include advice regarding the approximate number of sessions you may require.
The frequency of the session will be also discussed by our Expert. A patient can take treatment sessions on a daily basis or on an alternate basis if skipping sessions in between don’t harm the treatment process.
